When all else fails, suspense/anticipation builders who can deliver amazing climax satisfaction are the best storytellers for me. A weak storyline is never a good thing but may be saved by the suspense buildup coupled James Patterson and Anne Rice were just two of the authors who usually got this formula right with the majority of their work. 99% of the time I walked away from their work feeling unbelievably sad that the ride was over, but I was left hungering for more. That is what most “artists” should work for. Build to leave their readers, listeners, and/or viewers wanting for more. The insatiable thirst to intake all that the artist has to offer that could only be satisfied by the author supplying more top quality work.
